Manuscript reviews are an unbiased, reader-focused evaluation of your recently published or soon to be released novel, and they are often utilized by publishing houses in promotional material, including books and posters, as well as in the “editorial reviews” section of their sales page. Manuscript reviews are typically provided by well-known review sites (such as ours!), fellow authors, or experts in the author’s field of expertise.
An editorial team member will review and provide feedback on your manuscript after it has been submitted. Using the results of our editor’s strategic reading of your book (which included a portion of the beginning, middle, and end), our editor provides an unbiased and constructive review of your book in a one-page review outlining your book’s strengths and areas for improvement. It is exchanging ideas on improving the overall “takeaway” of your book so that people read it and recommend it to their friends and family members. It also includes a recommendation on the level of editing your book will require to move on to the next stage of the process, which is included in the Manuscript Review. An example of the suggested edit is shown in a sample edit consisting of a page or two from your book 500 words in length.
Even though a Microsoft Word document is required for the Manuscript Review, the review does not constitute a comprehensive document edit. However, this service is not available in the case of poetry books.
When you request a book critique, we will tell you whether your manuscript is fair, reasonable, excellent, or outstanding, if it has potential but needs professional help or additional work from you, or if it is unpublishable in its current form.
New writers frequently encounter similar difficulties (e.g., chronological progression, weak characterization, uneven plots, excessive back story, and lack of structure). A critique will focus on specifics, whereas an evaluation will tell you whether you’re on the right track or not (or even if you have writing talent). When you request a critique, your manuscript will be scrutinized for flaws, inconsistencies, and character development issues.
The work’s accuracy, clarity, completeness, chronology flaws, voice, viewpoint, and overall impact on the reader will all be assessed. As needed, alternative themes, organization, dialogue, subplots, descriptive passages, or tie-ins will be suggested. A marketability assessment is included in both the evaluation and the critique.
We offer a wide range of professional editing services to ensure that your writing receives the best editing possible while avoiding overcharging for services that you may not need. An Editorial Critique is a thorough assessment of your writing and composition style.
Would you like to know what people think about your work? Honestly?
Then, request an editorial critique to evaluate your plot presentation, character development, writing structure, dialogue, and overall storey composition. You will be given an honest, unbiased assessment of your manuscript’s potential for improvement, development, and resolution of inconsistencies. Moreover, you can use the positive aspects of our review to promote your book.
